If You Have To Leave

I'm haunted by the words of Evanescence and their song - My Immortal.

To quote but a few lines, "I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my childish fears...." - that's the part I start to weep. Yes, right at the beginning of a song.

Not very macho I know, but welcome to Goth World.

It reminds me of everything I walked away from.

I will not go into it on a blog - why I did what I did, but, STOP PLAYING IT AT THE FUCKING AIRPORT.. EVERY bastard airport, in the world, ever!!

It's a very nice song, and Amy is rather cute (in a Gothic, want to protect her, sort of way) - but enough already !!

"These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real..." - will you fucking stop it ??!! *searches desperately for Kleenex type tissues*

Jesus fucking christ, I thought I was fucked up enough by Eric and Tears In Heaven.....

"And I know, they're be no more tears in heaven" - wrong. I cry every day about the mini Goths.

So, what song really makes you cry?

it depends on what time of the month it is. 'tears in heaven' can do it, but the most likely song would be 'who wants to live forever'. Being a freddie fan doesn't help either.

From Brigadoon:-
And when the mist is on the meadow,
And when the clouds are holding still,
If you're not there I won't go roaming,
In the heather on the hill.

Reminds me of the stifled sadness I felt when I thought I would never see MTL again.

A Thousand Hours, from The Cure Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me album:

For how much longer can I howl into this wind? For how much longer can I cry like this?

Thanks a lot, goth! *wails*

"Sanson ki mala pey" by Nusrat Ali Fateh Kahn reminds me of when my grandmother died. You may not know it and I don't know your song, but I know what you mean

It takes more than a song to get me crying. It usually has to be a movie. Although there are songs at the ends of movies that get me, like "Into the West." The others I don't remember. Somehow "Time After Time" and "Only Time" stick in my head even though they aren't end-of-the-movie songs. "May It Be" comes close.

What an interesting Goth topic! I've heard your song before but haven't actually experienced the words. Love the tune.

Zoe -> and there was me thinking it was always your 'time of the month'

Pat -> Nice...... but I can't help thinking about Billy C - 'Roamin in the gloamin'

JG -> you would do, you sychophant

Ani -> Top choice, not one of Robert's favourites but

JJ -> Interesting. It is quite a spiritual question I feel

Elaine -> I was rather impressed with the version of 'Mad World' that appeared in 'Donnie Darko'

It's probably a cliché by now, but the version of 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash (accompanied by the video) always sends a shiver down my spine and a lump to my throat. His last song as a frail old man, he walks through his old house - complete with pictures of Carlene Carter Cash. It's love and life lost or fading, sung so beautifully and with such feeling, I can't help but fill up.

Stereophonics "Maybe Tomorrow". If I even start to explain why I'll start blubbing.

Stacie -> nice choice and I'm not even a fan of DD Lewis

Tom -> interesting - I wouldn't have thought of it but I can see where you're coming from

Daphne -> it's probably the Welsh influence ;-)

Sewmouse -> It is actually called 'Wonderful Tonight' and was written about George Harrisons wife....

Toy Story 2 made me cry. Last time I
drink in front of a Disney movie.

Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U.
I'd had it for ages, still in the cellophane wrapper. The day the girl walked out of my life, I went home, unwrapped it and put it on. Cried my fucking eyes out.

I was listening to that Amy Lee song this week. Very haunting, but it's never made me cry. Nor dance.

Che -> but Toy Story isn't a song...

Mr Farty -> skinhead o connor - only her hairdo made me cry
