Having just had to listen to the most awful Portuguese butchering of some classic songs, I started thinking. Well, actually, it was so shit that it nearly sobered me up.
Bastardos !!
So, there I was, wondering.... what are the most shit songs, in the world, ever? (that have been hits)
Here is a list, off the top of my head but, come on, you can add to it I'm sure..... (they have to have been in the UK twat parade at some point).
Mistletoe and Wine - Cliff Richard
Two Little Boys - Rolf Harris
Shaddup Your Face - Joe Dolce
The Birdie Song - The Tweets
Agadoo - Black Lace
The Frog Chorus - Paul McCartney
Save Your Love - Renee & Renato
Achey Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus
Wannabe - Spice Girls
The Cheeky Song - The Cheeky Girls
Come on, I think you can do better I'm sure, so get writing. Which song really pisses you off?
*very sad and on way to the airport, Goth*

how much is that doggie in the window, by ....?
to sober you up completely you need to have somebody falling down a flight of steps - or something.
oh, and didn't mr blobbie do a song ?
I have two:
Mull of Kintyre - Wings
and Sailing - Rod Stewart
Both set my teeth on edge
I like achy breaky heart. Sorry.
But really really hate mull of kintyre. and that chipmunk song "I'm so lonely".
oh and "long haired lover from liverpool" is definitely in my top ten most hated.
Oh What... I thought, shall I read some blogs before or after I write my post about bad songs... and then I read this!!
Great minds?
Still going to do my, slightly different post.. so there!!
"There's no one quite like grandma" St Wuinnifrids something or other
American Pie - Don McLean
Pregnant and on Dr's orders to total bed-rest while the upstairs neighbor played this over, and over and over and over and over and over and over and ad nauseum.
I only recognize two of your wretched songs. I have a sieve memory for pain. I tend to forget the crap as soon as I can. Nothing particularly painful on the radio at the mo'.
perfect post since I have just been ranting at Eliab's shite song. He reckons it's the best song lyrics ever..... ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH get me away from that man.
if you can be bothered, here's the link..

In The Army Now by Status Quo. In the mire of crappity crap songs by Status Quo that one stands out for me.
As you know, I have impeccable taste in music. Unfortunately, I can still remember some pretty awful ones:
Superman by Lori Anderson
Seven Tears by The Gumbay Dance Band
The Floral Dance by Terry Wogan
Whispering Grass by Windsor Davies and Don Estelle
The Laughing Gnome by David Bowie
Let's Get Ready to Rumble by PJ and Duncan
Anyone Can Fall In Love (East Enders theme) by Anita Dobson
The Millenium Prayer by Cliff Richard
Also, anything ever done by Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Moriah Carey (although I like the videos), William Shatner and David Hasselhof.
Plus just about any song done by a footballer, with a special mention to Diamond Lights (Hoddle and Waddle) and Fog on the Tyne (Gazza with Lindisfarne).
If any of you are lucky enough to get the Disney Channel on cable or satellite, you can see Billy Ray Cyrus in the hit show Hannah Montana, appearing with his extremely cute daughter Miley.
My own guitar-accompanied version of "Horse with no Name", the performance of which has been known to reduce people to tears and if continued to spasms of what looks like acute pain whilst rolling around on the floor.
It contains a D-minor chord which involves 4 fingers, so I have to stop and put the right fingers onto the right strings. Singing along is thus made particularly difficult for spectators.
I do better at "Me and Bobby McGee".
My first thought was Mull of Kintyre but Scouse Doris already called it. But now that I think of it, Wings have an even worse song "Band on the Run"
Moonlight Shadow (Mike Oldfield)
Live is Life (Opus)
Making your Mind up (Buck's Fizz)
Save all your Kisses for me ( Brotherhood of Man)
Take my Breath Away - The theme from Top Gun (Berlin)
The Final Countdown (Europe)
Je Suis un Pop Star (some French bloke)
Joe le Taxi (no idea)
Faith (George Michael)
Nelly the Elephant (Toy Dolls) I met their bass player in Sheffield.
Tell me what you want, what you really really want (don't know what's really called) (Spice Girls)
Honey -> I went, I saw, I will kick him in the bollocks next time I see him
CJ -> Yikes, forgotten about that tuneless piece of dirge - Rotting All Over The World
Lynx -> Good list but you forgot Timmy Mallet ;-)
(and Billy Ray dies next time I see him and Lassie is not in the way)
Aunty M -> it's not a D-minor, it's a D7 but didn't it involve the Talahachee bridge?
Suzy -> (sorry for being lazy) yes there is a frog chorus and, yes, it's shit
JJ -> Wanker. The Shite Girls one is on the list (I had to look it up coz it's so painful I couldn't remember it) zig a zig HA
Hee hee - just posted the entire Shite Girls song on JJ's page.
Serves you right sir ;-)
Goth,
I deliberately ignored the "joke" songs like Timmy Mallet, Mr Blobby, Spitting Image etc, as I think they were designed to be annoying. I agree about Timmy though; I always wanted to hit him with a sledge hammer, never mind a mallet.
Susannahs,
Apparently, Miley spent a few years working on losing the accent; but Disney Channel then told her to get it back!
JJ,
Je suize un rock star, je avay un residence, je habitey la, a la sarf o'France...
This wasn't by some French guy, it was by Bill Wyman!
Lynx -> Know what you mean about Mallett and yes, I knew the Wyman reference - I was hoping to get a 14-year old girl too ;-)
And look who had a paddy about the SHITE GIRLS
*sits in corner laughing while JJ blubbers*
Miseltoe and Wine ... I remember that when it come out. That was really awful!
I like Mull of Kintyre, the traditional version sung in auld man pubs across Scotland, not the mass media version
Shit, that reminds me of the Sir Cliff of Richard version of the lords prayer or whatever bullshit it was...
TRULY DIABOLICAL
t's such a tickety-boo site. cool, acutely intriguing!!!
