Ooops I Lost a Day

I know I've been ill but how can you lose a day? That's just plain stupid. Here I was all morning thinking it was Thursday and it's actually Friday. It's not like I can walk backwards to get it back either.

I can understand losing your keys, or a hat but some things cannot be found again.

I lost my virginity. Well, where did you leave it? In the bed I think. DOH - too late

I lost my temper. Careless indeed and even you you find calm instead, it will not replaced whatever you smashed at the time.

I lost my way - ugh, you like Frank Sinatra or were you clever and lost the Pistols version, easier done as it's anarchic.

They even did a whole series of programs called Lost. I never watched it, I mean how boring would that be?

*Cut to two survivors on a desert island*

"What happened?" - "I lost my keys" "But how?" "Well, when the plane crashed into the mountain, and everyone rolled downhill to the beach, they must have just fallen out".

What next? - The sequel? FOUND. Lots of aircrash survivors get rescued by a boat, but the captain is really clever and brought a metal detector because he just knows that someone will have lost their keys.

I'd love to work in the Lost & Found office in some large place like Grand Central Station. This is a genuine list of some of the items there (coutesy of National Geographic magazine):-

Cell Phones
iPods
Umbrellas

(all usual stuff - now for the WTF's)

False teeth
A pair of ear lobes (left by a plastic surgeon)
An Urn of ashes (deliberate as the woman hated her husbands cheating)
A very mournful looking basset hound

Some people eh? What's the strangest thing you've lost?

Normally I lose regular things like umbrellas but when I was six or so, I lost a tiny diamond ring that my grandmother had given me because her grandmother had given it to her. I still feel guilty over that.
A few years ago I was flying home from DisneyWorld and I managed to leave the bags containing all the souvenirs/gifts I had bought for my friends in the overhead compartment. I lost approx. $200.00 in Disney merchandise. :(

I am sure it would have to be my sanity. I lose it, I find it, I lose it, I find it.
I go out with T, what do you want from me???

Nature Girl dijo...

My sanity, and it was strange indeed, you should have known me then.

Now I'm just plain loco. How mundane.

Hope you're feeling better now.

I lost my passport in Provincetown the night before I was supposed to fly from NY to London for a job interview.

Ended up going through an underground expediting service staffed by characters from Reservoir Dogs, paying a fortune for the new documents, and getting a transfer to London.

SpanishGoth dijo...

Super G -> Yeah you missed my birthday but the cake is mouldy by now

Bob -> I hate people who lose their passports (not really)

Not the strangest, a sad one. Just lost a brooch my mother gave me. It was pretty and unique and she gave it to me. It was valuable, too. Don't tell her. Lost it just two days ago. Frantically walked the street along my path hoping against hope that I would see it laying on the sidewalk somewhere. Asked building security if it had been turned in. Gave up surprisingly fast. I guess I'm just used to losing things.

SpanishGoth dijo...

Elaine -> It will turn up where you least expect it - it's not lost, you've just forgotten where it is

We have a special corner for lost umbrellas.
You know this "four-seasons-in-one-day" country when you arrive in the rain and leave two hours later without your umbrella because it's stopped raining!

SpanishGoth dijo...

I think it's called the Vivaldi movement Cream

i lost my mind years ago but it didn't really matter as no one noticed.

i also lost a leather jacket that i bought really recently - now that's going to take some explaining.

You have to be kidding me.....

Some days seem to last longer, especially when you don't sleep at night. So, Goth Master, you must simply have had a second Thursday.

On very rare occasions, I can lose my patience. I deliberately lost my wedding ring years ago and don't really care to find it again, oooooh no!

SpanishGoth dijo...

Minky -> I don't think the 'lost wedding ring' counts - it was not lost, merely disposed of...
